CHRISTMAS y TRASLADOS: Week 72

Dear Family and Friends,

I don't have that much time so this email is gonna be short haha but it was the best week ever!! I got to skype the fam! We all had an awesome Christmas here! I was able to play santa for a couple of the elders that didn't get any gifts and they were pretty happy! We ate dinner with the Montiel family and it was super good! We also watched all the fireworks they have for Christmas! Hopefully there will be even more for New Years!
We found so many awesome people this week! We are hoping for 4 baptisms this month!!  I love this work.
TRANSFERS!!! We had transfers but me and my comp are both staying! But I was sad to say goodbye to elder Taylor and Krasowsky :( they are 2 of my best friends in the mish.
I LOVE THIS WORK!! Im super excited to start this new transfer off right and find, teach, and baptize!! We are gonna try to set a goal of 1,000 contacts in one week which would be insane!! Standards of Excellence from President is 70 a week (at least 10 a day) haha. But we are gonna destroy that goal.
THIS YEAR FLEW BY! It's so crazy how it's already over! I love being here in the mission field. It really is the best place to always be thinking about, learning about, and serving our Savior Jesus Christ. 2018 was the only year where I will be in the mission field 100% of the time. I have been able to see so many miracles in my life and the life of others. I love being able to share the good news of the gospel and help everyone no matter what their situation is. The gospel really can make EVERYONE'S life better. I'm so thankful for this chance to serve the Lord. I love you all and I'm so grateful for all the love and support you have given me. Hope we can all make 2019 even better and serve and love even more! Happy New Year!! Have a great New Years celebration , love you all!!

WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!! Week 71

WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!

This week was so amazing!! We had a district meeting and lunch for Christmas and then we worked hard and prepared for our Navidad Blanca!! Even though its been like 100 degrees, we have had a very White Christmas here in Santa Rosa! We had 6 baptisms on Saturday! I had the chance to baptize Angie Rodriguez and it was awesome. Tons of people showed up to her baptism and her confirmation! Her family is so awesome. Her Grandma got reactivated and brings her to church every week! We are so stoked for all the work the elders and hermanas are doing in this zone!

I had the chance to go to Castex a little town like 2 hours from Santa Rosa and I did Divisions with Elder Zegarra! We found like 9 new people to teach and we set a baptism date so it was a pretty good day! I love being able to go to other areas and help the Elders there!

Tomorrow we are eating breakfast with the stake mission leader who is awesome and then lunch with the bishop! And then we are gonna do our skype calls and visit some members and people we are teaching! Should be a fun day!

This week I have been trying to focus my studies a little more on the Savior. Focusing on Him has helped me feel the real importance of CHRISTmas. I'm so grateful for this time of year! Even though it's not the same as home, with the lights and food and presents and stuff, it's one of the best Christmas seasons I've ever had! I love this work!! Hope you all have a very merry Christmas!!

Love,
Elder Tanner

Christmas Party and President De Hoyos! Week 70

What's up fam and friends!! This week was so fun but so crazy! We had 2 conferences and interviews with pres!
Monday - P-Day. wrote our emails, Played soccer and cleaned the house.
Tuesday - We had interviews with president and divisions with the assistants Elder Lumsden and Portocarrero (from peru).
Wednesday- We had our Christmas conference with president and it was super fun. We played games watched coco and played soccer with everyone and had more interviews until 9 at night! It was awesome!
Thursday - Conference with President De Hoyos (Member of the 70 and President of the South America south area) which was awesome! I conducted the leadership meeting we had after the conference which was kinda scary because I didn't want to mess up haha. But he talked a lot about how we need to practice and perfect our lessons and contacts so we can teach with more power. He also said we should talk about the atonement of Jesus Christ in EVERY lesson and contact we have. I loved everything and I received tons of personal revelation that's gonna help me a ton! He also hand delivered my package that Elder Bragg had. My mom sent it with the Sorensens from my HB ward who was visiting the Bragg's!
Friday & Saturday - Work as usual and we had lots of great lessons including the last lesson of Angie who is gonna get baptized this Saturday! We are stoked!
Sunday - We went to church and Angie and her cousins (non members) all came! We taught a class with 3 minutes of warning that we were gonna teach but we killed it. So that was awesome. And then Angie had her baptismal interview in the afternoon and passed that! Then we visited a few more investigators and less active members! It was a good day!
The church is true! I know it is! Hope everyone is feeling closer to our Savior Jesus Christ this CHRISTmas season!
Love you all so much.
Love, Elder Tanner
