Somebody Call 911 : Week 37

HEY GUYS!! This week was awesome! It rained a few days wich sucked because its super hard to work in the rain. Not because we
are wet but nobody wants anything haha. It was an awesome week of lessons though!!
We had an investigator named Luciano get married this week! Now all we have to do is teach him the rest of the lessons and baptize him!! It's gonna be awesome. The ward is really helping us with them actually. Our other investigator Beatriz and her husband are thinking about getting married right now but they aren't sure.
We had stake conference this week and the temple pres of the buenos aires temple came down and spoke! Also President cifuentes and his wife spoke. It was super good! They talked a lot about missionary work actually. And like 5 recent return missionaries and 5 people with a mission call right now got up and bore there testimonies. Super spiritual meeting!
Funny story: (not that funny) We got called to ask to do service on friday (for the next day) and it was on the complete other side of our area. Like a 40 minute walk. So we show up in the morning in our service clothes and apparently they cancelled it and didn't tell us. Classic Argentines… It was the worst.
Crazy story. we were walking in the street and see this oldish man riding his bike. All the sudden he just falls and hits his head super hard. He was knocked out cold i didn't know if he was still alive. So we called 911 and finally he starting moving again. It was scary haha Glad we were able to be there and call though.

Hope everyone is having a great week!! Love you all!!

Do I Stay or Do I Go .... : Week 36

Hi Friends and Fam

THIS WEEK WAS CRAZY!!!! It had its ups and its downs. We had a district meeting this week which was fun. Me and my comp are leading our zone with 15 fechas (baptism dates)!! so we are stoked about that. We set 6 last week because we taught 2 different lessons with 3 people in each and they all accepted the challenge to be baptized if they receive an answer! they are all super interested, its awesome!!

On a sad note, one of our investigators newborn baby (13 days old) passed away. Luciano and Romina are the parents. We actually got to go to the hospital and see the baby the last day it was alive. They wanted us to come so we went. The babies name was Alma (means soul) She was born like 2 or 3 months early and was barely 2 lbs. it was super sad. They have a date to get married and baptized still though! keep them in your prayers please :)

TRANSFERS!!!!!! Do I stay or do I go??? drum roll please..........I AM STAYING HERE!!! my comp is also staying!! I was scared I was going to leave! I'm super happy I'm staying though. I love all our investigators!! we were so happy hahah

This week was awesome. We are BOOKED all the time now. we are just running places and taking buses to get there faster and stuff because we have so many lessons haha its awesome!! I love when we are booked like this. Its way more fun and time flies! its crazy. I feel like it was just Pday yesterday.

Funny Story: okay this story was kinda funny but not really. We told an investigator (Beatriz) that she has to get married if she wants to get baptized and she started cracking up laughing. She was like you really think I can get my husband to marry me?? it was bad. They have been together for like 20 years. She really wants to get baptized so I think we can do it.

Love you all!! The church is true!!! I was listening to one of my favorite Elder Holland talks this week called "Safety for the Soul" I invite everyone to listen to it or watch it if you have time! Its so good!!! Hope everyone has a good week!!!

Actual Cafe Rio and Amazon ; Week 35

HEY FAM WHATS UP!!!! This week was amazing!! We taught so many lessons we like barely even had time to contact and stuff. We put a couple more baptism dates for next month!! Next month is gonna be awesome (if I stay haha). We have transfers next week so I'm scared I'm gonna leave.
On Thursday we got Cafe Rio delivery. Yes CAFE RIO!!! It happened! The member from the US that I talked about before made us sweet pork, cilantro lime rice, black beans, the creamy cilantro dressing and tortillas. And he brought us chips and salsa. And he made us cheesecake!!!! It was so good! He made us 2 kilograms of meat (about 4.4lbs). And it still only lasted us 2 days haha. He also took and placed our Amazon orders so of course I got Reese's and peanut butter and some other stuff that they don't have down here. It was awesome!!! Cafe Rio became a reality!!
Luciano and his wife showed up to church! He's one of our investigators with a baptism date. He also has plans to get married on April 27th!! (his wife is a member) So he is totally getting baptized next month!!
Nothing major happened this week. We worked super hard and were booked with lessons! We gave a few blessings as well which is always a cool experience! I Love this work!! It goes by too fast when we are booked with stuff to do! I love it! Hope all is well at home!! Love you all!!!

Potential Cafe Rio and Amazon : Week 34

Hey fam! This week was another awesome week out here in the Arg. We started it off on P Day with having an asado (argentine bbq) with a less active family! We shared a message and watched the restoration video with them and the 10 year old daughter who isn't baptized said she wants to get baptized and her family wants her to get baptized. So we are working on reactivating them and baptizing the daughter!! We were stoked when we heard that haha.
Me and my comp taught this 8 year old kid because his mom wanted us to teach him before he got baptized. Also the dad isn't a member so we thought it would be good to become friends with this family and teach the dad. We taught the boy Luciano and he had his baptism on Saturday!! Me and Elder Robinson spoke at the baptism! It was awesome!
We contacted a bunch and got 13 new investigators! And we also set 2 more baptism dates! And they are both super good ones with a lot of potential. One was a member reference named Nicolas (imagine that ! a reference in Argentina haha) and he has been going to institute and everything. He loved it! We are hoping to get a few baptism next month!!
Funny Story: A member who lived in the US for many years and speaks perfect english without an accent called a member we were eating with. The member said he was with the missionaries right now and this guy asked if he can talk to us. He said he loves talking english with people and asked if we want to have lunch. He said he can make anything. He loves cafe rio (and so do we) so he said he He is gonna make us cafe rio burritos. and he asked us if we want anything from amazon because he is making a big purchase soon haha. We have lunch with him on Thursday so it's gonna be awesome. He lives in an 18,200 ft square foot house that's not in our area so he said he's just gonna bring us the food and get our amazon order. We hit the jackpot somehow hahaha
Love you guys!! If you get the chance go back and listen to some conference talks! They were amazing! Me and my comp are downloading them all right now!

Birthday, Easter, Conference! : Week 33

WHAT AN AWESOME WEEK!! From my birthday to conference it was just an awesome week. My birthday was such a good day! In the morning we found 4 new investigators and then we bought some nice steaks for lunch. Then the Allans came over (Old Couple Missionaries) and they took us out to ice cream for my birthday haha it was awesome because they usually don't do that they just had to come fix one of our beds and when they saw it was my b-day they took us out for ice cream. I made them put on a party hat and take a pic too haha Later that day we had a few awesome lessons, and we went over to a members house because they made me a cake and sang to me. It was awesome haha.
CONFERENCE WAS SOOO GOOD!!! President Nelson is a Stud. He loves us so much. I hope everyone felt the spirit and received answers to any prayers. My favorite talks were President Nelsons about receiving personal revelation, Elder Bednar's about Meekness and humility, and Elder Uchtdorf's about “beholding the man”. All of the talks were amazing though! I love being able to spend Easter sunday listening to the words of the Prophet and Apostles!
I have such a strong testimony that God called prophets to lead and guide us today. President Russell M Nelson is truly a Prophet of God. This gospel is so true. Its so awesome to be able to preach it every day and bear testimony of it every day. Take the advice of President Nelson's final words to study the words of this conference for the next 6 months! Love you all! Have a good April!
