We got a little bit dirty, but it was worth it! Week 89

Such a great week because FRANCO GOT BAPTIZED!!!! He was running a little late so that was really stressful but he and his family showed up and everything went smoothly! We had about 20 members there as well so it was pretty good (because we are just in a branch of 35 or 40 people). It was my comp Elder Norton's first baptism too! So that's cool! When we asked Franco who he would like to baptize him he said “one of you two I don't wanna be the one to pick” so I asked if it would be okay if my companion baptized him and I did the confirmation. Elder Norton was SO happy haha he was practicing in the house and everything. He did a great job!

And on top of that it was one of our best weeks for contacting/finding new people to teach this transfer! We were on fire! Plus we put another baptism date for the sister of a recent convert that went to church on Sunday and will most likely get baptized this month! (month of May). Her name is Orianna so keep her in your prayers!

We actually had a little miracle happen this week with Facundo and Orianna. Facundo has to finish his morning work in the store his family owns on Sunday mornings so sometimes he can't make it to church. So I said to him “hey me and my comp will go over to the store at 8:00 and we will help you get everything done and then we will walk to church at 9:30”  And that's what we did! We got a little bit dirty but it was worth it. We just had to pull out all the fruit and vegetables and put them out on display and then clean the floors. And Orianna and Facundo both came to church with us yesterday! Her name is Orianna so keep her in your prayers!

Today we are going to eat choripan by the river and chill! Should be a good day!

Love you all! Read your scriptures, say your prayers! Be kind and humble and be MISSIONARIES! Have a great week!

I got Kissed...: Week 88

Happy Easter!!

What an amazing week it was to be able to remember the Savior and everything He did for us! I hope you all were able to do the “Come follow me” for this week! It was so good! I love reading about the Saviors last week he had of His earthly ministry! The video on ComeuntoChrist.org  If you have seen it , go watch. It's so good!

The love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ is the antidote for every negative aspect of our lives. Because of Him, we can overcome sadness, despair, anxiety, hatred – and someday, even death.

We have been working really hard this week trying to prepare Franco for his baptism on the 27th! We are super excited! We prayed and fasted for him to be able to not have any complications with doing the necessary paperwork to get married the 26th before the baptism and he said that it has been going way easier than they all thought it was going to and that they are are already done with everything! So that was an awesome answer to prayer and fasting!

This week has been pretty rough as far as our friends progressing, but I still have seen many miracles! Yesterday we were able to put a new baptismal date with Natalia and it was probably one of the most spiritual lessons of my mission. We were testifying to her and i could see the spirit testifying to her as well. She has had a lot of trials in her life but I just hope she continues to do her part to receive an answer that the church is true!

I know Christ lives! I know He is our Savior and Redeemer! I love this Gospel and I have seen it bless the lives of so many people, ESPECIALLY MINE!!! Love you all! Hope you have an amazing week!

Funny Story:

We met this lady that seemed to be very interested in what we have to say. She was like 27 years old and seemed pretty cool! We got talking about the church and stuff and then she asked me where I was from and I said California and she was like “wow it must be amazing there”. I was like “yeah it's alright, I like it” ( trying to be humble haha). And at the end of our conversation she said “Will you take me to California with you?” and I said “umm no I'm gonna be here in Argentina a really long time”. And then when she shook our hands she pulled me and gave me a kiss on the cheek. (the Argentines do that but it's usually NO lips but she actually kissed my cheek) And then she winked at me haha! It was very uncomfortable. We probably won't be going back to her..

Feasting: Week 87

Hey guys! This week was pretty great! We got to go to the beach and it was THE BEST!! It made me a little trunky haha because it looked a lot like Laguna Beach! It had the cliffs and then the nice sand and water. It's called Las Grutas and it's one of the nicest and well known beaches in Argentina. We went because I had to pay rent for the missionaries house that work there. It's like a 3 hour bus ride and then while we were there we had a little time before we had to catch the bus home! So I got to see the beach and breathe some salt water air! It was amazing!!!

As far as the work goes it's been pretty good! We have had a couple disappointments this week because a couple of the people we are teaching aren't progressing like we would like them too but we are finding lots of new people to teach as well! We still are trying to get Franco baptized here in a couple weeks after his wedding so that will be cool!

We are going to be having our Zone conference this week! So that should be good. I think we are getting to have some Mexican food there too, which is very rare here. I love learning things from President Hymas!! He's the best!

I have been listening to all the conference talks on repeat this week! I LOVE GENERAL CONFERENCE!! We have such an inspired prophet of God. I know President Nelson is God's prophet on the earth today! I have really been trying to repent daily and be better every day! One of my favorite talks I listened to this week was by Elder Takashi Wada! He talks about FEASTING upon the words of Christ. When we feast, it's not just eating a lot of food. Usually when we have a feast, we share the feast with our families or the people we love. It's the same when we feast upon upon the words of Christ. We should share them with our loved ones and talk about what we learned and what we liked! Talk about your favorite “dish” or scripture with your loved ones! I hope we can all FEAST upon the words of Christ this week!

Love you all so much! Have a great week!
