#BautiNiños: Week 67

Hi friends and family,

This was my first week as Zone Leader and I'm exhausted.
Tuesday morning i took a 6 hour bus ride to Bahia Blanca from Olavarria. Then I was in the terminal allll day on Tuesday. I left Bahia Blanca for Santa Rosa at 7:00 and it was another 6 hour bus ride. Then I got there Wednesday morning and we worked on Wednesday and Thursday and then I left Thursday night for Bahia Blanca again to go to a leadership training. I was at the leadership training all day Friday and got home on Saturday at 3 in the morning. So I was pretty dang tired this week haha. Lots of traveling. Elder Ramirez is my comp and he is also a ZL. He is awesome!! I can already tell he is going to be one of my favorite companions. Our Zone has 22 missionaries in it so it's one of the biggest ones in the mission. I'm in charge of doing all the finances and stuff. Like I have to pay for every ones rent and bills and bus tickets and water and stuff. So hopefully I don't lose anything because I will have to pay it myself if I lose it. But it is super fun!! I love it.

On thanksgiving we made a big feast with chicken and pies and ice cream and mashed potatoes and salad and stuff. It was way good! We live in a house of 4 and some other elders had to come to our house because they were called as district leaders and had to go to Bahia with me! So we all feasted.

I know the church is true!! Every time I bear my testimony of it my testimony gets stronger. I have been reading lots of the book "Saints" lately and I know that Joseph Smith really was a true prophet. I Love being a missionary!!

Funny Story:
We went to go teach one of our investigators that is 10 years old. But it happened to be her birthday and she had like 5 or 6 friends over. She still wanted us to teach her and she had all her friends listen too. We taught the importance of baptism and all of the kids who are all 10 years old said they also wanted to get baptized hahaha. So the mom of our investigator is going to talk to all their parents and get permission to see if we can teach them. But it was a super good lesson. #BautiNiños

Elder Gong, I'm a ZL, The Purge is NOT REAL! Week 66

Elder Gong, I'm a ZL, the Purge is not real.
The whole week we have been working really hard with the people we have been teaching. Tatiana is progressing a lot and she should be getting baptized in 2 weeks!! Sadly I won't be able to see it happen because I got called to be a Zone Leader!! President called me on Thursday morning and asked me if I could serve as a ZL. Im super excited to be able to do it and learn more about how to be a better leader. I know it's gonna be hard and I don't feel like I'm good enough to do it but I'm gonna try my best! I think I am going to Santa Rosa in La Pampa but I'm not 100 percent sure yet. We will see!
On Saturday we woke up at 4am to get ready to leave for Bahia Blanca and see Elder Gong speak! The whole mission went to this conference. The conference was amazing! Elder Gong talked about our callings as missionaries, prophecies that we are fulfilling as missionaries in Bahia Blanca, and the doctrine of Christ found in 2 Nephi 31. It was AMAZING!! I know that he is an apostle of the Lord. He has such a spirit with him it is incredible. We all got to shake his hand one by one and tell him our name and where we are from. Sister Susan Gong also spoke to us. Elder Chaparra and Elder Villar also came to speak and their wives as well! I received so much personal revelation and answers to prayers that I was looking for. It was amazing!! I know this Church is true! This is the Lord's Church and I'm so thankful to be His servant! This is His work!!
On sunday I had to say goodbye to our investigators and a few of the members. It was pretty sad. I love the people here. It's one of the best wards i've been in my mission. I took a pic with the familia Bulant and the familia Fuentes who are 2 of my favorite families here. Tatiana (our investigator) is part of the familia Bulant. And now I'm leaving at 2am tomorrow morning so I have to pack up all my stuff haha I hate packing!
Funny Story:
These 2 girls started talking to us in the street and they asked us a million questions about the US. One was 12 and the other was 17. They were CONVINCED that we have “the purge” in the US. like the movie “The Purge” they thought it was real. And they didn't believe me when I said "no that's crazy" haha And they kept asking if we knew celebrities just because we live in the US, and they were surprised when we didn't have a ton of celebrity friends. haha. I think they were just trying to smooth talk because they wanted to sell us some torta fritas. We taught them our message and then bought the torta fritas. So we both won I guess haha
Love you all so much! Happy Thanksgiving and Have an amazing week!

The Bahia Blanca Mission with Elder Gong

Sloppy Joes: Week 65

Whats up fam!! This week flew by! I don't have very much time but I will try to give you the highlights.

Tatiana Bulant is progressing a lot and she went to church! We are super excited for her. She has been reading the Book of Mormon and everything. She said she believes Joseph Smith was a true prophet as well. But she is 7th day adventist so she feels like she's betraying her church. But I think she will get baptized this month or early December.

We had awesome lessons with the familia Montenegro and they said they were gonna go to church but when we passed by to walk with them in the morning they were all sleeping :( we were super bummed. I think they will come next week though!

Today we had Zone P-day and we played soccer in the rain, ate delicious sloppy joes, played ping pong and mafia. It was a good day!

I'm SOOO Stoked that Elder Gong is coming to our mission this week! It's gonna be such an amazing experience.

Reeses are Killer Good! Week 64

So many more miracles are happening!! I think this is the hardest I've ever worked in my entire life haha we are hustling around these streets, pounding down doors. I LOVE IT!!

First we have the Montenegro family who are progressing a lot! We found them a week or 2 ago and they have been reading the Book of Mormon and praying!

Also our investigator Haydee has been really trying to quit smoking so she can get baptized. She's like 78 years old so it's hard for her to quit but we are gonna keep working with her to help her stop! We have had lots of member present lessons with her and we call her and pass by her house every single day to help her stop smoking. Pray for her!

I had the chance to do divisions with Elder Pantle which was really good. It was on halloween which nobody celebrated here :( We visited a ton of families and committed 2 people to be baptized! We also found a super cool guy who let us teach him the restoration! Elder Pantle is a super hard worker so it was really fun being with him, and I learned a ton from him. He's from Layton Utah.

Then we have the Bulant Family who we are re activating and teaching one of the 12 year old daughters. The 13 year old is a 7th day adventist with TONS of questions haha. But they are awesome! We had a super dope lesson with her and the family and they came to church on Sunday! It was a miracle. They haven't come in a super long time!

Funny Story:  Elder Rodriguez (from Uruguay) is allergic to chocolate and I showed him that I had a Reese's cup in my trick-or-treat care package. He Really wanted to try it and so he tried it anyway cuz it was the only time he will ever be able to try one, haha, since he's from Uruguay and they don't have them there. I think he was kinda okay. He said he itched a lot so hopefully he doesn't die! haha
